Students who graduate from the PFTL will conduct fundamental and cutting-edge modeling and experimental research that is oftentimes multidisciplinary in nature. Additionally, zealous students who are future professors*, future entrepreneurs, or hybrids will find the laboratory most comfortable for conducting rigorous research.

There are currently limited undergraduate and graduate opportunities available for talented students interested in conducting experimental, theoretical, and computational modeling research on particle flows and tribology-related applications.

The PFTL welcomes the best and brightest future engineers from every nation and from every culture in America, so that the laboratory remains rich with diverse perspectives, creative, and fruitful.

Sloan PhD Fellowships may be available f
or select talented students (US citizens) who choose to work with Professors Higgs or LeDuc.
