Sloan PhD Programs

Because Carnegie Mellon University has identified Professors Philip LeDuc and
C. Fred Higgs III as “mentors and magnets” for mechanical engineering graduate students, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation will provide a financial support and professional development opportunities to underrepresented minority students who pursue a Ph.D degree under their advisement. Additionally, mechanical engineering students interested in becoming professors [1] should inquire about the "emerging professor training" track within the PFTL.

Please visit the website of the Sloan PhD Program to obtain further information or contact professors Higgs or LeDuc if you are interested in pursuing your PhD under their advisement.
