Machine Shop Class Information

TO: Mechanical Engineering Undergraduates
FROM: Jim Dillinger
SUBJECT: Machine Shop Practice Course  Fall 2009

The Mechanical Engineering Department will conduct a short course on Machine Shop Practice to familiarize students in the operation and safety of machine tools. This will give students a good idea of what goes into engineering designs in building a prototype and also will enable them to operate the machinery available in any future classes. The course should be taken in preparation for Design II.

It will be a 6 week course meeting for 2 hours per week in the Student Shop  HH-C109. The class will be conducted by Mechanical Engineering Shop Staff, Jim Dillinger, John Fulmer, Ed Wojciechowski and Steve Klim.  The Mini 1 sessions begin the week of September 7.  The second Mini sessions begin the week of October 19.

The number of students in each group will be limited. Classes will be offered based upon enrollment.

If you are interested, please register in OLR- courses are set up as Mini 1 and Mini 2. See Jim Dillinger in HH C124 or email jimd@andrew.cmu.edu  if you have any questions.
