Eric
Lipsky is a graduate student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
He is working on particulate matter emissions from combustion systems. He
was an undergraduate at the University of Pittsburgh, and also has a degree
in Music from Northwestern University. In his spare time he likes to play
with his kids and work on his house.
Sarah Rees is a graduate student in EPP. She is interested in the measurement and source characterization of fine particulate matter, and the development of regulatory schemes for air pollution control in the US. Sarah was an undergraduate in the chemical engineering department of New Jersey Institute of Technology, and also has a law degree from Rutgers Law School-Newark. Soon-Cheol Kweon is a graduate student in Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. He had B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Korea University and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. His research involves the characterization of the microstructure of ash deposits formed in coal-fired power systems. He is also developing models for deposit properties such as thermal conductivity.
Juan Cabada is a graduate student in Chemical Engineering. He is working on carbonaceous particulate matter sources, sampling and analysis. Juan is a Chemical Engineer from the ITESM in Monterrey, Mexico. Before comming to CMU he has also worked in the syntethic fiber industry and as "junior researcher" for U.N. in Mexico. He can be contacted at jcc@andrew.cmu.edu. Anshu Bharadwaj has a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. He worked for seven years in the Indian Administrative Services (Government of Karnataka) before taking leave to do a PhD. He is currently looking at the technical, economic and policy issues associated with biomass based electricity generation in India. He is working on a biomass particle combustion model to understand the burn out rates in utility boilers for co-firing applications. Michelle Ungerer is a senior in Mechanical Engineering. She is working on modeling the combustion of biomass in a coal boiler. Michelle is from Corvallis, Oregon, which does, in fact, have running water and electricity. In her spare time she is a buggy driver and mechanic. She can be reached at mungerer@andrew.cmu.edu. |
